Becoming an Investor

SUNLİGHT TURİZM VE DIŞ TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ is an accredited health tourism intermediary organisation defined as an international intermediary organisation with a health tourism authorisation certificate. Being a health tourism intermediary organisation is a certification process that requires a special certificate, which requires a process of approximately 8 months and an investment of 1.000.000 TL, including the Ministry of Culture, TÜRSAB accreditation and Ministry of Health accreditation processes. In order to successfully pass this process and create a well-established brand in the sector, we started this process by purchasing Sunlight A.Ş., which carries out Tourism Agency activities. We are currently working with a team of 25 people, including our team of 15 people, consultants, interns working for the project and our foreign erasmus team.

We have designed the MedicalinTurkey brand. Our goal is to shape the future of health tourism in Turkey. As the team of the IGEME Export Development Center, we have designed a new innovative and hybrid model with a unique strategy in health tourism.

In health tourism, we have planned to act while considering not only the incoming patients but also the ones who don’t come. Since 2017, under the leadership of our General Manager Murat IŞIK, we have been developing Health Tourism Projects, Health Tourism education, solutions, and consultancy. As a result of these efforts, we have identified the activities, shortcomings, and issues of health tourism through development agencies and EU projects.

Our experiences have led to the emergence of a model that offers 360-degree solutions. MedicalinTurkey is a solution that is based on on-site services, providing comprehensive brand building in the field of health for Turkish Health Centers.

In Health Tourism, the number of patients obtained by the Republic of Turkey has reached 2 million patients, with revenue exceeding 10 billion dollars. This revenue constitutes 10% of the total target and 5% of the reached population.

Works Done as a Team; As a team, we have conducted approximately 100 training sessions, 26 events, and 10 international events. In our projects, we identified problems and challenges. These efforts showed that the main reasons for failure in health tourism are not success but understanding the root causes of problems in the projects we have conducted.

  • 34% Communication: Communication issues such as lack of competence, lack of seriousness, and lack of knowledge on the part of the other party.
  • 26% Failure to Find Doctors and Intermediaries in Research: Insufficiencies in the corporate structures of doctors and intermediary firms.
  • 13% Price Insensitivity: Inadequacies in pricing.
  • 11% Insurance and Legal Issues: Issues in insurance and legal processes.
  • 10% Follow-up and Process Management: Challenges in patient follow-up and process management.
  • 4% Lack of Treatment and Process Knowledge: Lack of knowledge about treatment and processes or the doctor being perceived as inadequate.
  • 2% Negative Reviews: Negative comments and evaluations.

In addition, in our research, we found that in the digital marketing-based processes of health tourism, the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) rates remained between 3% to 5%, and the inability of small businesses to deepen these processes increased the failure rate. Furthermore, in addition to these issues, we experienced the risks of agents between hospitals and patients not having defined roles and institutionalization.

MedicalinTurkey and Future Plans; As MedicalinTurkey, we have developed a new breath and working model by thoroughly examining the models of our colleagues in the USA, Germany, South Korea, and Israel. Our business model aims to advance through Shared Clinic Locations in Health Tourism Destinations in Turkey, and consequently, with Turkish Health Centers abroad. We adopt a doctor-centered approach, aiming to provide end-to-end health tourism management where services do not overlook the processes of doctors.

In line with this goal, we have signed a contract with TEMOS certification, which certifies Health Tourism Agencies worldwide in accordance with international standards, and we are designing the process according to international directives. Our efforts to obtain ISO, TÜV, and SAS certifications are ongoing, or in progress.

In conjunction with these efforts, we are working on 12 distinct beneficial models and unique methods.

Our Service Models and Approaches

  • OMSS (Onsite Medical Support System): Provides trust by delivering on-site services in health tourism. Our research indicates that the biggest expectation of health tourists is to have an office or pre-diagnosis clinic in their own countries.

  • D2D (Door-to-Door Planning): The solution for modern individuals is to leave everything to others to plan. This solution reflects the concept of service quality, preparing a travel program for health tourists where every detail is considered.

  • IMS (Insurance Management Strategy): Insurance systems operate on profit worldwide. We convince them to work with insurance systems by explaining that we offer them the opportunity to profit by paying for treatment expenses in Turkey.

  • WPS (Work for Your Brand): The world is not ready for you. You must make an effort for your own brand and identity. Medical in Turkey is developing initiatives to contribute to your corporate identity.

  • ICS (Innovative Cost Solutions): Health tourists are generally not as wealthy as expected. Their primary motivation is cost. Therefore, we should address their concerns about price by offering different payment options and relieving them of the burden of carrying cash in today’s conditions.

  • 360dMS (360-degree Management Strategy): Health tourism is of vital importance for our country and holds great promise for the future. To avoid repeating the losses we experienced in the past, we need to think in a 360-degree manner, and we do this for you.

  • AIM (Artificial Intelligence Management): Artificial intelligence influences our decisions in every aspect of our lives. We use technology to communicate with potential patients by processing data accurately.

  • IMIERS (International Medical Industry Excellence Rating System): The world sets standards and rates quality in healthcare. At Medical in Turkey, we prepare Turkish healthcare institutions for these standards.

  • WHMS (Wellness and Health Monitoring System): Health tourists do not want potential complications and interruptions in the treatment process due to miscommunication. Therefore, they demand a monitoring system they can access in their own countries.

  • CIS (Customer Information Solution): We should provide services while adhering to international standards and ethical values. We should keep tourists informed and provide solutions to problems.

  • WHTC (World Health Tourism Constitution): The healthcare sector is a field that requires special care. Tourists who want to know ethical rules and standards also expect the same care in health tourism

  • LLC (Legal and Law Compliance): Adherence to contracts and compliance with local laws are expected. Especially in countries where the legal system is complex, we aim to gain the trust of tourists by monitoring legal processes.

  • EMPATi ve TOUCH (Empathy and Personal Touch): Health tourists desire a relationship and process management based on communication between the patient and the doctor. This is why they want to reach their doctors before and after treatment.

  • TST (Trust Building through Service Excellence): Health tourists are looking for answers to resolve trust issues. We provide these answers at Medical in Turkey

In addition, we have established ethical rules, working conditions, and principles. Corporate identity and corporate media content have been created, and preparations have been made for 3 TV and YouTube programs, with initial shoots completed.

Future Planning and Objectives: Our work has already begun, and a team has been formed. The current working system is planned until 2023-2024. Joint clinics focusing on health tourism will be opened in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya.

In Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya, there will be health centers with 120 stakeholders in 6 centers.

Turkish Health Centers will be operational in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Uzbekistan. Each center will have a total of 100 members, with a total of 400 stakeholders in 4 centers.

A total of 6 health tourism vision meetings will be held. These meetings will take place in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Adana, Tekirdağ, Kayseri, and Samsun.

Within 15 months, a total of 24 doctor-patient meetings will be organized in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Uzbekistan.

A total of 10 live surgical training sessions will be conducted with our 20 doctors for different treatments.

In 2024, 2400 foreign patients will be brought to Turkey as health tourists.

Our services have completed trial phases through various processes, progressed on the path of development, and carry the opportunity to become a unicorn in the future with the interest and investments deemed worthy by the healthcare sector.

Especially in the field of “HEALTH TOURISM,” the incentives and support provided by the state, the opportunities offered by the government for service exports, and potential developments, including the growth of the sector even during the COVID period, indicate a great success in future projections.

There has not been any failure in this field yet. The delay in the sector is solely due to a lack of focus and details in the business plan.

MedicalinTurkey comprehends the future of health tourism from a 360-degree perspective and is implementing a project with a business model that has the potential to generate substantial income and create employment. While planning to progress in the market and realize the business model, MedicalinTurkey aims to grow with investors.

In this work, the pricing and activities of the targeted products and services have been planned and defined.

In Turkey, for 20 clinics in 4 centers x 6 centers x 24,000 euros annually: 2,880,000 euros

MedicalinTurkey Annual Rent and Participation Fee with 400 Partners in 4 centers: 12,000 euros x 400: 4,800,000 euros

For Doctor-Patient Meetings: 7 doctors x 24 meetings x 7,000 euros: 1,176,000 euros

In total, with a 20% commission from 1,000 patients, 2,400 x 1,000 euros: 2,400,000 euros

All the processes of these operations have been calculated with a KPI rate of 6%. The fact that all operations in the process are government-supported, and that 60% of the expenses will be covered by government incentives, emerges as a separate profit item.

To ensure the success of the project, all expenditures have been planned as team, office, rent, and marketing expenses. Processes, careers, team processes, and roadmaps for operations to be opened outside our current operation center have been prepared. Supervisors to manage all processes are ready.

For the project’s financing and company valuation, an evaluation of 8,000,000 euros has been made. To ensure the realization of the project and the management of the process, we offer a partnership with a Euro-based exit guarantee, which will be informed 60 days in advance, and guarantees an income that is 10% above the annual interest rate of banks.

You can become a partner with 100,000 Euros for 1.25%, and official share registration will be done, and it will be valued through a capital increase.
